There are places in Germany where it rains constantly. Okay, that's an exaggeration. But if it rains anywhere in the surrounding area, it's guaranteed to rain there. And sometimes you even see it (especially beautifully on a country road): As if drawn with a string, the part of the road behind you is soaking wet, and the part of the road still to come is bone dry. You look up at the sky in amazement and wonder who cut off the clouds. At least if you're new to the area. Those who have lived there longer shrug their shoulders and say that it's often like that at this spot.

At the beginning of a new year, one likes to look back. One celebrates successes and analyzes defeats to do better next time. And you know it well: newsletters (and politicians) usually only talk about how great everything was.
You know that we don't shower you with marketing sunshine, but rather give you an honest insight. That's why we thought we'd talk about our "Flop of the Year 2025" today:
No one expected this: Icy, long-lasting frost with lots of snow at the beginning of the year! The children in the village are sledding from Weyher over the gently rolling hills right into the next village – and we can only drive our rear-wheel-drive car up Borngasse in reverse. But for us farmers, there's always a solution, even with snowdrifts: We'll just take the tractor to go shopping. A little slow, a little cumbersome, but we'll get there – and that's what matters in the end!
For the New Year, we wish you all that you too reach your goals, whether it's tractor-slow or sled-fast, it doesn't matter! We are happy about the cold weather, because with it we have already reached one goal for the new year:
Did you know that we have a kind of "United Nations" in our 500-soul village in Southern Palatinate? If we count both tourists and employees, we have hosted over 50 nationalities at our winery in the last two years: from Chef Matti from Mexico to Yu from Japan and John from Kenya... In short: the wide, wide world meets in small Weyher. And we are proud of that.
Because while the political environment around us feels like it's constantly becoming more one-sided and bigoted, we are consciously international, colorful, and diverse. Especially as an employer, we feel a responsibility for the people around us, without whom we as a winery could not exist. The helping hands not only support us...
