Our gourmet wines are between the Schoppen wines and the premium wines in terms of both price and alcohol content (11.5 to 12.5%). They are the perfect accompaniment to a delicious meal or food pairing... But they are also wonderful by the fireplace after a long day at work: put your feet up, breathe deeply, enjoy life! That is what the gourmet wines were made for. Because as the name suggests: if you want to unwind, the gourmet wines are just the thing.
In this category we have our largest selection of white wines: International grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc complement the traditional Riesling. At the same time, we also grow forward-looking grape varieties such as the climate-oriented Burgundy varieties and Cabernet Blanc. Because of climate change, some traditional grape varieties (such as Riesling) have to struggle, while other grape varieties (such as Pinot Blanc) benefit from the rising temperatures.
Yes, and then of course we have the little crazy things in this category, like the G.punkt (the G. stands for Graf, of course): a rosé in a stunning color, which becomes a real eye-catcher thanks to the pink cap.
If you prefer something a little sweeter, you should look out for the orange aluminum capsules: Our Blanc de Noir and Muscat were our personal favorites when we were really young (we're still young now, of course, but nostalgia knows no age ;-) ).
It's best to try them all once! It's worth it when shipping: with 15 bottles we save (all) the packaging material and you save the transport costs!
This is what wine experts say:
" Bright yellow with green reflections; intense scent of tropical fruits such as passion fruit and mango paired with vegetative notes of green pepper and nettle; on the palate these aromas are carried by a well-integrated acidity and juicy sweetness; lively aftertaste. " - DLG Federal Wine Awards, Frankfurt am Main, 05/2023
" Light yellow with green reflections; intense fruit aromas of tropical fruits such as passion fruit and mango as well as green pepper and gooseberry; supported by a lively aroma and fresh fruit notes, this Sauvignon Blanc leaves a refreshing, harmonious overall impression ." - DLG Federal Wine Awards, Frankfurt am Main, 10/2019
"Green-yellow color play; spicy, opulent aromas of green pepper, gooseberry and asparagus paired with notes of cassis; the outstanding sweet-acidic play underlines the fruit aromas; impressive finish." DLG Federal Wine Award, Frankfurt am Main, 2018
"A sparkling gooseberry type with lots of exotic and green fruits, very balanced. Delicate fruit acidity, making it pleasantly juicy and rounded. Little resistance to drinking and definitely makes you want a second glass! Goes just as well on its own as with summer salads, asparagus and fish dishes." Dr. Rolf Klein, experienced wine author and former editor-in-chief of the magazine "Weinwelt".
