Weyher Wine Panorama – get out your bucket list!
Have you ever heard of a "bucket list"? This is an English term that comes from the idiom "to kick the bucket". Literally, it means "to kick the bucket". In fact, it is a colloquial way of talking about death. It is rumored that it goes back to the Wild West method of hanging – meaning someone kicks the bucket from under you while you are standing under the tree with a tight noose around your neck. Gulp. Our German translation "den Löffel abgeben" (to hand over the spoon) is a little gentler.
The bucket list, or rather, the "spoon list," lists all the things you want to do before it's too late. It's quite smart to have a bucket list... but that alone isn't enough. You also have to work through it!
And we are very, very, very sure that some of you have "Visiting the Weyherer Wein Panorama" on your bucket list (be it in thought or actually on paper). And we think it's time to put life's beautiful plans into action! Now. Not tomorrow. Not next year.
What is the Weyherer Wein Panorama?
Simply put, it's a wine festival. In fact, it's a festival of enjoyment, a festival of chatter, an incredibly beautiful time festival with a unique panoramic view over the Palatinate.
When is the Weyherer Wein Panorama?
From May 1st to 3rd, 2026. And every year on the first weekend in May. If you don't make it this year. Then definitely in 2027!
What's on offer at the Weyherer Wein Panorama?
Six wineries and a patisserie are going all out to spoil your taste buds with culinary delights. From classic Saumagen & Leberknödel (sow stomach & liver dumplings) to handmade wild boar sausages and Germanic skewers, all the way to falafel baguettes, sushi rice bowls, and Filipino-style roasted suckling pig, every taste will be satisfied. (You guessed it right, the Filipino pig is of course available from us, directly from Kristine’s Lamesa Catering!). But even more important is the wine (we think)!
What is the Weyherer Wein Panorama Pass?
Of course, everyone wants to taste the wines from all six wineries! To ensure that you don't stumble and lose track, there's the pass. It ensures that you receive a glass of wine (0.1l) for tasting at each stand -- and a stamp! A full stamp card is very satisfying.
More information on purchasing the pass can be found here.
What does Weingut Graf von Weyher offer at the Weyherer Wein Panorama?
Ooooh, this year we've once again come up with a delicious combination of dishes and wine for you. This is our menu - with wine pairing:
1. Lechon with roasted vegetables & rice (Filipino suckling pig freshly grilled over charcoal)
-
Recommendation: Buntsandstein Riesling dry (No. 101) or Cabernet Blanc dry (No. 116).
-
Why? The crisp Riesling with its fresh acidity is the perfect partner for our crispy Lechon. Fancy something new? Then try our Cabernet Blanc! Exotic and spicy in taste and also a great accompaniment to the Filipino suckling pig with roasted vegetables.
2. Baked Mushroom Baguette (creamy & spicy)
-
Recommendation: Pinot Blanc medium-dry (No. 122) or Pinot Blanc dry (No. 131).
-
Why? Mushrooms and cheese have a lot of "umami". A Pinot Blanc is creamy enough to keep up with the mozzarella, but doesn't overpower the taste.
3. Pizza Baguette à la Panorama (Feta & Tomato)
-
Recommendation: G.punkt Rosé dry (No. 206) or Sauvignon Blanc dry (No. 115).
-
Why? The acidity of the tomatoes and the saltiness of the feta call for a wine with freshness. The Rosé is the absolute all-rounder here – it's the perfect terrace combination!
4. Tarte Flambée "Bacon & Onion" (The Classic)
-
Recommendation: Riesling dry (No. 132) or Pinot Gris dry (No. 119).
- Why? The intense bacon needs a crisp acidity (Riesling) or a full-bodied wine (Pinot Gris) that can stand up to the onions.
5. Tarte Flambée "Bacon, Blood Sausage & Onion" (hearty Palatinate style)
-
Recommendation: Saint Laurent dry (No. 401) or Portugieser Weissherbst dry (No. 207).
-
Why? Blood sausage is very strong and spicy. A light red wine like Saint Laurent is an excellent match here. If it's hot outside, the Weissherbst is the rustic, cool alternative that has enough "oomph" for the sausage.
6. Tarte Flambée "Asparagus & Pesto" (fresh & seasonal)
-
Recommendation: Muscat (No. 124) or Chardonnay dry (No. 118).
-
Why? Green asparagus often has slight bitter notes that harmonize wonderfully with the exotic fruit of the Muscat. The pesto goes perfectly with the creaminess of the Chardonnay.
7. Tarte Flambée "Honey, Brie & Walnuts" (sweet-salty)
-
Recommendation: Scheurebe mild (No. 136) or Riesling Kabinett medium-dry (No. 120).
-
Why? Brie and honey love residual sweetness! The aromatics of the Scheurebe or the subtle sweetness of the Kabinett highlight the honey and create a great contrast to the creamy cheese.
8. Fresh Waffles (sweet)
- Recommendation: Muscat sweet (No. 124) or Secco white (No. 306).
-
Why? A sip of sparkling Secco or a fragrant Muscat are the perfect finish to a sweet waffle with cream.
How to find accommodation for the Weyherer Wein Panorama?
The Edenkoben tourist office is happy to help
Unfortunately, all holiday apartments and pitches at our winery are always booked out far in advance.
Why is a visit to Weyher worthwhile anyway?
• Because it offers an impressively long history and a lot of genuine Palatinate atmosphere.
• Because at 267m high, it offers an impressive panoramic view over the Palatinate.
• Because it lies at the foot of the Palatinate Forest (if you need a little peace and quiet after the party ;-)).
• Because many winemakers here cultivate high-quality wines in a tiny area – and that's why it's a "great location"!
