The new year starts cold and wet – and we actually think that’s great!

We haven't had this much rainfall in decades. The soil is so saturated that the excess water simply flows down the slope, naturally carrying pollutants and pests with it. You could say the soil is cleaning itself.

At the same time, the water penetrates deep into the soil, replenishes reserves, and later nourishes our deep-rooted vines. Did you know that grapevines can dig their roots up to 100 meters deep into the ground? The frosty, subzero nights are also a blessing, as they naturally reduce the number of pests that survive the winter.

Our Saint Laurent is one of our premium wines, harvested and processed by hand. The 2020 vintage has won numerous awards and is extremely popular. We now have only 30 precious bottles left in stock before this top vintage is sold out.

As you know, our finest wines go into our so-called " treasure chamber ," where they mature and gain value year after year. Starting February 1, this Saint Laurent red wine from the 2020 vintage will be offered at a price of €21.50. Until then, it will still be available at the old price of €15.50.

But wait! What about "Dry January"?

Some of you might cringe at this. Because in "Dry January," some people consciously and completely abstain from alcohol after the exuberant festive weeks. This idea, by the way, came to us from England.

We understand the approach, and we also agree that wine should be enjoyed in moderation. No other beverage in the world offers such a breadth of flavor and culture. No wonder wine has been celebrated for millennia.

PPS: Currently, forestry work is taking place in the forest and at the hut… sick trees are being cut down so that healthy ones can grow back. Therefore, the Swiss House is currently closed. The 2025 season opening is planned for March 1st with an even more beautiful view!
