Christmas spirit
Outside, the (sleet) rain is falling. Hurrah! In the last few weeks, it has finally, finally rained heavily again. A whopping 300 litres of precipitation per square metre have fallen on us, and we cannot tell you how happy we are about it. All the dry streams are full to bursting, the rain is running down the mountain in a thousand rivulets, and even when you walk through the forest, it really splashes under your feet. Wonderful. We are sooo happy. Our vineyards and our souls have been yearning for this.
But it wasn't just the weather that made us happy. We also received the good news that our winery was named one of the top 100 wine producers in Germany in 2023. The DLG (German Agricultural Society) carries out this assessment, for which each participating winery sends in samples of each quality level it produces. The overall picture is then evaluated. So this is an award that, for once, does not focus on a specific vintage or batch, but looks at the overall overall performance. We are all the more pleased about this award!
At the same time, the Christmas spirit is rising, and of course a special gift offer cannot be missing from today's newsletter. Even in the rain, work in the vineyard continues. The new pruning has begun and the first steps towards 2024 are already being taken.
At the same time, things are happening in the cellar! The first 2023 wines have already been bottled and are now available again! These include, above all, our three already sorely missed audience favorites:
Tip: The last orders before Christmas will be shipped on Wednesday, December 20th!
And at Christmas (soon, soon, not far away!) the rest period begins . From December 23rd, 2023 to January 17th, 2024 we will be taking a break and recharging our batteries for the next year. The forest huts will also be closed from December 20th. But they will be open again on February 8th (just in time for Carnival!).
