The Way of St. James from Santiago is known worldwide: you walk from place to place and get a stamp for each location you reach. These stamps are wonderfully satisfying, so colorful and full of lovingly designed details. But above all, they are a symbol of what you have fought for and a precious memory of the journey.
The Way of St. James also exists in
the Palatinate : two paths start at the important pilgrimage site
of Speyer and lead in a large circle through the most beautiful region of Germany (okay, maybe we are a little bit biased, but if you don't believe it, come and form your own opinion!).

AND now comes the highlight : you can also go on pilgrimage here... on a smaller scale, but much more enjoyable! Our Palatinate forest huts (we've already mentioned it three to seventeen times, proud as punch) have been a
UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021.
But long before that, 11 years ago, the tourist office in Edenkoben launched the Palatinate hut hopping . You walk to ten forest huts and - you guessed it - get a stamp in your hiking pass at each hut. (This makes the hiker's heart purr!)
Our forest hut Amicitia is the starting point of the tour. It is pleasantly cool there in midsummer, as it is close to 7 springs. The Schweizerhaus is number 6. And at the end there is the big prize, an engraved Schoppe glass, including Riesling spritzer.
There is also a prize draw if you answer a question correctly at each hut . You should plan two or three days for the whole tour and you must submit your answers by the end of October.
There is also a mini hut hopping for children. With “just” five stamps, the kids get a mini Schoppe glass as a prize (filled with grape juice spritzer, of course, always nice and slowly with the young Palatinate people).
Hut hopping was so popular this year that there are only a few hiking passes left . Please contact us directly if you want to get started!
Will we see you in the Palatinate Forest?
