United Nations in Weyhe

Did you know that we have a kind of "United Nations" in our village of 500 souls in the Southern Palatinate? If we count both tourists and employees, we have hosted over 50 nations at our winery in the last two years: from Chef Matti from Mexico to Yu from Japan and John from Kenya... In short: the big, wide world meets in small Weyher. And we are proud of that.

Because while the political environment around us feels increasingly one-sided and bigoted, we are deliberately international, diverse, and versatile. Especially as an employer, we feel a responsibility for the people around us, without whom we, as a winery, could not exist. The helping hands support us not only within the closest family circle but extend far beyond, including friends and strangers (who in turn quickly become part of our lovingly extended family). Because the three of us Grafs alone could not run the winery – and we are acutely aware of that!

With gratitude for our team, we celebrate our very own Thanksgiving and Helper's Festival once a year. This year we – well, can you guess? – went for a hike through the Palatinate Forest. Of course, with backpacks that were still heavy with wine & water at the beginning. The "Schoppengläser" (wine glasses) were also part of the party, because how else are you supposed to mix the vital "Schorle" (wine spritzer)?

There were about 50 of us, from 16 to over 60 years old, from all over the world: Dominik, the Palatinate boy, chatted with Arthur from Poland, Kristin from the Philippines or Canada had an lively conversation with Claudia from Colombia, and so the three-hour hike flew by in no time.

You already know: In cooperation with Sabrina, we offer regular forest bathing for our guests, and now we finally had the opportunity to enjoy it ourselves. During the beautiful hike through the late autumn forest, we walked on a carpet of colorful leaves in a "leafy snow," caught a glimpse of the magnificent panorama through the partially bare branches, and once a deer hopped past us without making a sound. Magical! For us, it was pure stress relief. And as we all trudged through the forest together, we were filled with great gratitude for the big world in small Weyher, for our community, for the (co-)existence that we call our own.

Our destination was the Waldhütte drei Buchen, where a delicious meal and a few nice accompanying bottles of wine were already waiting for us. In retrospect, we can say that 2025 was a good year for our Weingut Graf von Weyher, against all expectations, despite the difficult market conditions (you remember the American tariffs and the red wine in the stream!).

Our highlights were the good harvest, the award for the Best Collection of Sweet White Wines (you can find the gold package here!), wonderful festivals that we celebrated appropriately with all tradition... and of course our solar system, which is now running wonderfully, after we were finally able to connect it at the beginning of this year with a lot of delay and stress.

Now we look forward to a contemplative and peaceful time, where we can hold our feet to the crackling fire and enjoy a precious sip of wine.
