Actually, you might think that red and white wine are mixed together in a fun way if you want to get a nice rosé wine. Completely wrong: A rosé wine or Weißherbst is always made from red grapes . How it works? The color of the wine is almost exclusively determined by the skin of the grapes and not by the pulp. So it's entirely possible to make a white wine out of a red grape if you remove the skin early in the process so that it can't release its pigments into the juice. This is how, for example, a Blanc de Noir is created - a white wine made from dark grapes. By the way, most types of champagne fall into this category.
But let's take a closer look at the rosé wines. What is the difference between a Weißherbst and a rosé?
As already mentioned, both have one thing in common: They are only made from red wine grapes.
But with a rosé (wine), different red wine grape varieties are skillfully combined. Two elements determine the color and taste here: First of all, the right point in time when separating the peel and juice is important. And then in the development, the individual grape varieties are matched to each other until the desired color and taste are achieved. For our Rosé G.Punkt we chose a blend of Merlot and Portugieser.
Our rosé wine G.Punkt is one of our latest developments. It's a party favorite as the super cool color is a real eye-catcher, especially when combined with the pink aluminum cap and the name. The G.Punkt is a dry rosé (wine) that, despite its cool appearance, comes across as quite serious and has received several awards from wine critics in blind tastings. That's why we proudly count it among our gourmet wines.

What wine experts say:

"Raspberry red with slightly violet reflections; the bouquet presents ripe red berries such as raspberries, currants and strawberries; on the palate the pleasant fruit harmonises with the balanced acidity and the elegant glaze; fresh, well-balanced overall impression. " DLG Federal Wine Awards , Frankfurt am Main, 08/2020

"Bright crimson play of colors; the scent contains fruity aromas such as red currant, cherry and hints of raspberry; the taste is refreshing with a pleasant fruity glaze complemented by a lively acidity; spicy finish." DLG Federal Wine Awards , Frankfurt am Main, 08/2019

" A blend of Merlot and Portugieser: juicy notes of wild strawberries and cherries on the nose. A spicy, medium-bodied rosé type with fresh acidity and animating fruit. Perfect on the terrace, for supper and with tapas with sausage/ham or a fresh, crunchy salad. " Dr. Rolf Klein, experienced wine author and former editor-in-chief of the magazine " Weinwelt ".
